Insulspan Structural Insulated Panels
Insulspan Structural Insulated Panels was founded in the early 1980s, and has been an industry leader in the development and production of structural insulated panels (SIPs). Insulspan was one of the first SIP manufacturers to obtain third-party testing and code-listing reports, cementing their leadership and expertise in the industry. To date, Insulspan has produced over 20,000 residential and commercial structures.
TW Constructors
Missouri-based general contractor TW Constructors has a colorful company history that has shaped its role in today’s construction landscape as a full-service general contractor. The business began operations under the name of Legacy Building Group, which got its start in 2002 after owner and Chief Executive Officer Todd Weaver took out a loan from his father to pursue his own business goals—and paid it back in only six months.
CCW Inc.
Today, this company has spent over three decades as one of Canada’s most respected architectural millwork and casework firms, but back in 1986, CCW Inc. began as a small, family-oriented business. Current company President and Chief Executive Officer Ian Scanling’s father started the company, with Ian and his brother involved early on.
Service Center Metals
Service Center Metals (SCM) celebrated its 20th anniversary in September of 2023, ringing in two full decades of serving the United States and Canada as an aluminum extrusions and aluminum billet provider from its native Virginia.
Hurckman Mechanical Industries
Marking over 70 years in business with three generations’ worth of industry knowledge, Hurckman Mechanical Industries continues to serve the state of Wisconsin and neighboring states as a go-to industrial mechanical systems contractor. Founder Frank Hurckman began the business in 1953 as a sheet metal and roofing shop called Hurckman Metal and Roofing that operated out of Green Bay. Shortly after, the company got out of the roofing business and into the heating and ventilation sector. In 1967, the company was renamed Hurckman Metal Inc.
CMTA Inc.
Since 1968, CMTA Inc. has been doing its part to bring energy-efficient engineering to American construction, now growing to a nationwide leader in decarbonized, healthy buildings. After our previous conversation in 2022, the company has taken a large step toward furthering its mission. Also in 2022, CMTA became part of a larger company called Legence, a Blackstone portfolio company as well as an energy-efficient construction business and sustainability solutions provider.
Momentive Performance Materials
Momentive Performance Materials (Momentive), a premier global advanced materials company with a legacy dating back to the 1940s, has a unique brand, culture, and position in the silicones and specialty products industry. So unique, in fact, that today, Momentive may be one of the only remaining pure silicones companies in the world, according to Chief Technology and Sustainability Officer Thanos Yiagopoulos.
Building Knowledge Canada
Building Knowledge Canada (BKC) is an Ontario-based professional engineering firm with a focus on low-rise residential construction, with specialties in building science and sustainability. Building science reflects the study and mastery of the interaction of heat, air, and moisture with a building enclosure, its service systems, and its occupants.
Playgrounds Unlimited
The business that is Playgrounds Unlimited officially incorporated in 1996, but the motivation behind it took shape a bit before that. The idea sprang from Co-Owner and President Joe Mendes, who wanted to build his son a playground to celebrate his first birthday. This intention eventually spun into him carving out a niche in the construction industry and moving into playground construction full-time, with two partners to help his new venture get started.
