American Subcontractors Association (ASA)
Given that subcontractors are responsible for three-quarters of the construction activity that takes place in the United States, it makes sense that subcontractors would want to have the unified representation, advocacy, education, networking opportunities, resources and support of a national trade association.
The Concrete Sawing & Drilling Association (CSDA)
In 1972, Les Kuzmick, Sr. created the non-profit Concrete Sawing & Drilling Association (CSDA) with the vision of bringing contractors and manufacturers together to create a forum in which the concrete cutting industry and new technologies were freely discussed. As a concrete saw blade manufacturer based in Southern California, Kuzmick believed there would be many advantages to an association where others gathered and helped each other to advance the industry, and he was right.
The Pennsylvania Precast Association
The history of precast concrete goes back centuries due to its quality, durability, longevity and convenience. It was first used by ancient Roman builders to construct aqueducts, buildings and tunnels – many of them still in existence. Precast concrete items such as box culverts, highway barriers, retaining walls and other products are widely used worldwide, and their benefits are proudly represented by the Pennsylvania Precast Association (PPA), a not-for-profit corporation.
NAWIC
The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) has headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas with 122 chapters across the country and over four thousand women-only members. It was initially established as Women in Construction in Fort Worth in 1953.
National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA)
The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) represents the $160 billion electrical construction industry including those responsible for installation, repair, service and maintenance of electric systems and equipment. Its members embody the who’s who of the electrical industry.
General Contractors Association of New York (GCANY)
1909 marked the founding of the General Contractors Association of New York (GCA), headquartered in New York City. As a trade association, the GCA represents the city and state’s unionized heavy construction and public works contractors involved with the construction of rail and mass transit systems, roads, bridges, building foundations and water and wastewater treatment plants. In other words, the essential infrastructure that those living in large cities often take for granted.
Carolinas AGC
“Carolinas AGC is a full-service construction industry association that provides workforce development, job leads, safety/education and training programs, government relations, advocacy, meetings for networking and business development, and everything else people in the commercial and industrial construction industry need. Architectural Woodwork Institute
The Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) is the leading woodwork trade association with roots going back over a century. The institute publishes and maintains industry standards, hosts conferences and seminars and operates an education center to encourage young people to enter the profession. Run on a non-profit basis, the institute has over two thousand members and is proud of its long history and prominent position in the woodworking sector.
The Steel Tube Institute
Since it was formed almost one hundred years ago, the Steel Tube Institute (STI) has evolved to meet the needs of industry. It was created in 1930 when several manufacturers came together to educate about the many advantages of using steel tubing, and STI continues to endorse this well-known construction material. It also advocates best practices and safety initiatives specific to steel tube producers.
National Corrugated Steel Pipe Association (NCSPA)
Since its first introduction to the construction industry in the late 1800s, the composition, patterns, applications and state of performance of corrugated steel pipe (CSP) and structural steel plate systems have been assessed to provide insights into overall performance and effectiveness. Because of its potential hundred-year lifecycle, CSP is proving to be a real winner for owners, contractors, engineers and specifiers in private and public civil construction projects throughout the United States.

Since 1968, the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) has served as the unified voice of the entire heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) industry and supply chain.
Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (OSSGA)
Over 280 Ontario producers and suppliers of sand, gravel, and crushed stone products and services are represented by the Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (OSSGA). Founded in the late 1950s as the Aggregate Producers Association of Ontario, the non-profit is the trusted and undisputed voice within the aggregate industry to relevant stakeholders, including provincial authorities, municipal governments, conservation authorities, environmental non-governmental organizations (ENGOs), and the public.

Founded in 1993, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) pioneered the concept of sustainable building.
