Gillett Construction performs construction, renovation, and remodeling projects for clients in Nevada and in several other locations around the United States. The company is experienced in leading design-build projects and working closely with design teams. Gillett’s team has a track record of solving complex problems and working successfully through challenging situations.

Gillett Construction’s CEO and founder, Darren Gillett, has deep ties to the construction industry. His family has a long legacy in the field. Darren Gillett’s great-grandfather owned Canada-based Gillett Brothers Construction, and his father also worked as a general contractor. Naturally, Gillett was eager to launch his own career in construction. Prior to founding his own company, Gillett relocated to Nevada and worked for a contracting company specializing in large commercial projects. In 2004 he established Gillett Construction.

Throughout his career, Darren Gillett has built lasting relationships with many clients. Under Gillett’s leadership, the company’s client base has grown continuously over the past 13 years. The company is currently experiencing rapid growth as the economy continues to improve. Gillett has 120 employees and a portfolio featuring dozens of successful projects. All of the company’s leaders have decades of experience in the construction industry.

Gillett’s team has extensive expertise in all areas of commercial construction. The team is knowledgeable in every aspect of code compliance and safety procedures, and is experienced in working on projects in close proximity to the public. The company self-performs concrete placement, framing, insulation, drywall installation, and other tasks.

The firm prides itself on delivering efficiency and cost savings without compromising on quality. Above all, the company is dedicated to bringing each client’s vision to fruition. Transparency and communication are key to the company’s success.

Gillett Construction has performed numerous projects for the hospitality and entertainment businesses that form the base of the Las Vegas economy, and the company’s range includes work on hotels, restaurants, spas, and casinos.

Gillett’s portfolio also features one-of-a-kind projects such as the construction of the City National Arena in Summerlin, Nevada. Earlier this year, Gillett completed work on the 146,000 square foot hockey facility located in downtown Summerlin. The arena will serve as the practice facility for the Las Vegas Golden Knights, the city’s National Hockey League (NHL) expansion team. With previous experience in building ice floors, Gillett was uniquely qualified to lead the project.

The two-story facility features two NHL standard sized ice sheets, locker rooms, office space and a restaurant; in addition to the Golden Knights, it will be home to local hockey leagues. Gillett completed the $30 million project in just nine months, saving time and costs by self-performing a large portion of the work, including concrete, carpentry, and drywall installation.

“The Gillett Construction team has been a great partner for us at Black Knight Sports & Entertainment. Building a NHL practice facility coupled with a community ice rink is a very unique project here in Las Vegas. Here at Black Knight Sports we are leaning heavily upon Darren Gillett and his team. Together we are going to create a world class facility that will serve our NHL team as well as the entire community for decades to come,” said Murray Craven, Senior Vice President of the Golden Knights, in a testimonial shared on Gillett’s website.

In fall of 2015, Gillett completed work on the new Tournament Bowling Plaza at the South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa. The two-story arena features 60 bowling lanes surrounded by stadium-style seating, along with locker room facilities, a restaurant, and more.

Gillett has performed numerous other projects at the South Point Hotel and Casino as well, including construction of an exhibit hall, which offers 80,000 square feet of divisible exhibit space, along with meeting rooms and dining facilities. Gillett also built the South Point Arena & Equestrian Center, a show arena with 4,600 seats, a practice arena, concessions facilities, and more than 1,200 climate-controlled horse stalls. Gillett has performed remodeling projects on the Costa Del Sur Spa & Salon, as well as multiple restaurants and office space within the resort.

The company has also worked on retail projects including the Apple Store in the Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace, Anthropologie at Fashion Show Mall, and retail spaces inside the Palms Place Hotel and Spa. The firm has also performed several projects outside Nevada, including the construction of BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse in Avon, Indiana, as well as a $2.7 million renovation project for Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant in Jacksonville, Florida.

Gillett Construction’s commitment to teamwork and excellent craftsmanship has garnered respect from clients and colleagues alike. “I have known Darren Gillett for over 20 years, since we both worked on the construction of the Orleans Hotel and Casino,” Arnie Martinez, Director of Architecture for Leo A. Daly, said in a testimonial. “Since that time, we have worked on numerous projects, and Darren has created a top-notch construction company. Gillett Construction is a leader in their industry and they know how to bring in a project on schedule and on budget, all the while being mindful of best building practices. They never take any shortcuts and always ensure a quality project. As an architect, I know that having a quality general contractor on a project is imperative for a successful project and I know that Gillett Construction will always deliver a successful project.”
